- 4th December, 2005 - Grading Day 4
Grading 4 for 2005 has been completed and USMA is proud to announce that 3 new blackbelt have joined the Honour Roll:
Boosabum Alina Leong, Boosabum Yogendra Kumar and Boosabum John Papadimitriou. It was good to see at least 25 black belts
present, supporting the Grading, and participating in sparring. USMA would also like to congratulate the Juniors and GUP students for their effort.

- 22nd October, 2005 - USMA Open Taekwon-Do Tournament
The USMA Open Taekwon-Do Tournament was held on Saturday October 22 at the
Carey Sports Complex on Bulleen Rd, Bulleen from 9:00 - 4:30 pm.
USMA students and visitors enjoyed the day which not only show-cased our patterns,
sparring, special techniques and power, but also the unity and strength of people
working together. With over 100 people participating on the day, all Instructors
and senior members of the school contributed to achieve one of
the best running tournaments in USMA's 10 year history.

- 18th September, 2005 - Grading Day 3
This was another very successful day for USMA Taekwon-Do, with students from Carey, Carlton and Ormond dojangs in addition to students from the
Ashburton Dojang all being successful. USMA has a new Black Belt, Fiona Bromley, who put on an outstanding grading to acheive Dan 1,
while Vanessa Kozaris achieved her 2nd degree to add a third 2nd degree member to the Kozaris (the others being Tania and Nicole).

- 19th June, 2005 - Grading Day 2
USMA's second Grading Day for 2005 took place in the Circuit Room at Ashburton. Congratulations to
Boosabum Yeonil Lee, Hyang Ah Lee, Boosabum Callum Corry and Boosabum Lisa Wise for their 1st Degree accreditation. Their grading
included Patterns, Sparring, Self Defence, as well as Pre-arranged Sparring and board breaks. Our Juniors also excelled, which augurs
well for the future, demonstrating the ongoing talent developing within USMA Taekwon-Do.

- May 15th, 2005 - Training Day
The first Training Day for the year was held at Ashburton. During the day, the following modules were covered:
- Patterns judging
- Sparring refereeing and judging
- Power breaking and Special Techniques
It was a very successful day with over 30 students of all ranks participating. The afternoon involved a practical session where
students participated in a sparring competition while rotating through the roles of refereeing and judging.
- March 6th, 2005 - Grading Day 1
The first Grading Day was held at USMA's Ashburton venue. It was an exciting day in which hard work and determination
were the formulae for success. Junior Grasshopper students provided a great demonstration of their work, which was rewarded with their promotion.
Jean and Rhys Lajoie, our entertaining Father and Son Combination, were successful in being accredited with 1st Dan black belt honors.
Also, USMA was honored with the promotion of Boosabum James Gazzara and Boosabum Julia Fogarty to 2nd degree black belts.
- February 27th, 2005 - Ashburton Fete
USMA Taekwon-Do School once again thrilled the local population on a six hour demonstration promoting Taekwon-do created by General Choi Hong Hi.
Forty members of Melbourne's largest ITF Taekwon-Do school performed to an enthusiastic audience on the main street of Ashburton in 34c degrees heat.
USMA turned on an ITF Taekwon-Do display to be proud of - Congratulations to all who participated, and especially to Boosabum Michael Corry who was
the main coordinator of the demonstration, along with Boosabum Michael Nguyen who was the senior belt on the day. USMA gave Melbourne a taste of all
aspects of ITF Taekwon-Do, including Patterns, Self Defence, Sparring, Step Sparring, Special Techniques and Power Breaking. Photos still to come.
